If the fire extinguisher has been used and the pull pin lost, do NOT simply replace the pin. It must be refilled if it has been used, even if it was only a single squirt

The fire extinguisher pull pin should be secured to the handle by a tamper tie so its easy to tell if the extinguisher has been tampered with or used.
