WEARING
THE EMBER ATTACKER
The unit should be put on empty, eliminating any OH&S problem of awkward heavy
lifting of a full unit on to the back. When using the unit one hand is kept
free at all times. The swivel hose fitting allows for use, in either hand.
USING THE EMBER ATTACKER
Pressurised by water mains pressure, when connected to a garden tap, the Ember
Attacker requires no pumping to operate. The higher the mains pressure,
the larger the fill quantity. The Ember Attacker allows you to move at a much
faster rate than pumped units for a quicker knockdown of firefront. Continuous
discharge means better coverage of fire area, and more effective use of water.
WHAT IS AN EMBER ATTACK? An ember attack is when the burning parts of
trees such as twigs, branches or leaves become temporarily airborne during a
bushfire. These embers are the primary cause of spotfires, which contribute to
the continued spread of a bush fire. Embers can ignite combustible materials
outside the home such as a doormat or garden plants. If left to burn, they may
ignite parts of the house and eventually cause the entire house to burn down.
Property owners often underestimate the danger of an ember attack even after
the bushfire has passed. If embers are not extinguished they can also lodge
themselves within firefighting equipment, clothing and vehicles.
OTHER USES The Ember Attacker
can be used for many household purposes, not only fire fighting. It's an economic
way to water plants in areas difficult to access with a regular hose; wash the
car; wash the dog and portable source of water.
